MLA Gian Chand Gupta inaugurated Rs 65 lakh development works at various places under the jurisdiction of the Municipal Corporation today.
He inaugurated a shed at Ashiana Flats in Ward No. 13, Abhaypur, built at a cost of Rs 18.50 lakh. Later, he inaugurated additional rooms and nursery sheds at the Community Centre, Sector 12-A, built at a cost of Rs 9.50.
The MLA also inaugurated foot bridges constructed near Labour Colony, gurdwara and Meet Market, near Ward No. 11, Rajeev and Indira Colony, which were constructed at a cost of Rs 10 lakh. Likewise, in the Ward No. 20 Alipur village, he inaugurated a Community Centre built at a cost of Rs 27 lakh.
Addressing the gathering Gupta said effective steps had been taken to improve beautification of the city, the traffic system and strengthen the security mechanism.
“Panchkula is improving rapidly in cleanliness and has been ranked 71st in this year’s cleanliness survey. Considering city’s beauty and hygiene, people now prefer to stay in Panchkula instead of Chandigarh,” he claimed. — TNS
