Mohali, August 4
Punjab Cabinet Minister and Mohali MLA Balbir Singh Sidhu on Saturday adopted Nagari village in order to make it drug-free.
Talking to Chandigarh Tribune, Sidhu, Punjab Dairy development, Animal Husbandry and Labour Minister, said around 30 persons of the village were drug addicts. “Though the Congress government has broken the supply line of drugs, there is a lot be done to rehabilitate addicts. I have adopted the village and now it’s my responsibility to rehabilitate the addicts,” said Sidhu.
In his address at a brief function in the village, the minister said he would create job opportunities for youngsters. Sidhu also flagged off two anti-dengue awareness vans and released a booklet of the Health Department.
Mohali DC Gurpreet Kaur Sapra and Civil Surgeon Reeta Bharadwaj were also present on the occasion. — TNS
