Mohali, May 8
Mohali district has once again lagged behind in the Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) Class X examinations, the results of which were declared today.
This year, the district secured the 20th position, third from the bottom, with a pass percentage of 86.34. Only Sangrur and Tarn Taran districts remained behind Mohali on the district-wise pass percentage list. Last year, Mohali had secured the 11th spot with a pass percentage of 66.94.
Commenting on the results, a PSEB official said, “The total pass percentage of the district has improved if we compare it with the last year.”
However, of the total 22 districts, Mohali is at the 16th place on the provisional merit list. Unlike last year, seven students of the district made it to the provisional merit list, having a total of 324 students with a cut-off of 97.38 per cent marks. Last year, not even a single student found a place in the list of 401 students. In 2017, only two students from the district made it to provisional merit list. This year, of the total 8,246 regular students from Mohali who had appeared for the PSEB Class X exams, 7,120 cleared it.
