On January 30, samples were sent to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory, Sector 36, to carry out chemical tests and chromatographic analysis. In the report submitted by the CFSL on February 23, 2018, presence of buprenorphine and pheniramine were detected in the injections.

After hearing the arguments, the court convicted Rajan under Section 22 of the NDPS Act and sentenced him to undergo imprisonment for 10 years.
