More BCom seats up for grabs at GGSCW-26 this year

Guru Gobind Singh College for Women (GGSCW) in Sector 26 was established by the Sikh Educational Society in 1973 with aim to impart quality education to young women. The college had won the first prize at the rose festival this year for being the best maintained campus in Chandigarh. The college has been winning this award since 2008. From this year, 70 more BCom seats are up for grabs at the GGSCW- 26.
The 11-acre campus has labs, a seminar room, an auditorium, cyber cafe, fitness centre, students’ centre and a language lab for functional English students with a language skills software. The college has 22,650 books in its library, which is fully automated with the LibSys software and provides the OPAC (online public access catalogue) facility. The college also subscribes to e-journals under the N-list programme of the INFLIBNET and the UGC.
This year, the college was declared runner-up in the overall sports championship, beating around 190 colleges affiliated to the PU. College students participate in various competitions throughout the year at the international, national, inter-university and college levels. The college secured the first position in kho-kho, boxing, netball, badminton, hockey, five-a-side hockey, swimming, tug-of-war and kabaddi in PU inter-college tournaments. It was declared runner-up in volleyball, basketball and rhythmic gymnastics. This year, three national seminars were organised at the college.
