Nav Bal Niketan School

Chandigarh: Nav Bal Niketan Smart School, Sector 29-B,  celebrated its golden jubilee with a musical extravaganza “Srjin-Mellifluent Symphony”. The chief guest of the day was city BJP president Sanjay Tandon . The programme started with the lighting of lamp followed by singing of school anthem. Students presented various dances, including contemporary, ballroom, jazz, salsa, hip-hop, Japanese and Chinese during the function. TNS

Sri Guru Harkrishan School

Chandigarh: The school health, safety and swachhta committee of Sri Guru Harkrishan Senior Secondary Public School, Sector 40-C, held a workshop on mental mealth for Class IX and X students. The workshop was conducted by school counsellor Rimpa Mishra, who sensitised  students on the causes of mental illness, techniques to overcome it and the power of positive thinking.  TNS

Bhavan Vidyalaya

Chandigarh: On the occasion of World Disability Day, specially-abled students of Bhavan Vidyalaya participated in fun games, including lemon race, hurdle race and stringing the beads. Participating in these games  and winning medals added to their happiness. They were also given gifts on the occasion. TNS 

The Knowledge Bus School

Mohali: A weeklong workshop on national integration was organised at The Knowledge Bus School. A poster-making competition based on the theme “Indian tradition of unity in diversity” and for promoting cultural conservation and integration was organised to mark the occasion. Best posters were selected and the winners were felicitated by Principal Anisha Sahapathi on the occasion. TNS

Zirakpur: The annual day of ACNP Senior Secondary School  — Navrang — was celebrated  with fervour at the Inder Dhanush Auditorium in Panchkula. The chief guest and guest of honour on the occasion were NK Sharma and  Kulwinder Singh Sohi, respectively. The programme commenced with the lighting of  lamp followed by Ganesh  Vandana. Students took part in different items including jai ho, giddha, bhangra and gatka. A skit on drug addiction and play on Shaheed Bhagat Singh enacted by students was appreciated  by all. TNS

Zirakpur: An informative session for students and the staff of Mount Carmel School was conducted by ASI Janakraj and  Constable Kulwinder Singh, traffic education cell, SAS Nagar. They created awareness on road safety and traffic rules among children and the role it played in reducing the number of road accidents on the occasion. TNS

St Soldier Paradise School

Dhakoli: The annual day function of St Soldier Paradise Senior Secondary School was organised at the Indradhanush Auditorium, Sector 5, Panchkula. CBI Judge Justice Jagdeep Singh was the chief guest and chairman, St Soldier Educational Society, Anil Chopra,  was the guest of honour on the occasion. Students gave performances based on themes, including social issues, women empowerment, educational motive and excess use of plastic during the function. Students also presented a scintillating dance on the pulsating music, which rocked the ambience. Principal Neelam  Bhar shared the school’s annual report with the audience, which was followed by a prize distribution ceremony.  TNS
