Chandigarh NCC air wing cadet Ankit has been awarded the Chief of Air Staff’s Trophy for her meritorious performance and achievements at the national level.
The trophy was presented to her by Air Officer Commanding, 12 Wing, Air Commodore Tejbir Singh, during the Air Force Day parade at the Chandigarh Air Force Station today.
Ankit was adjudged the All-India Best Cadet at the Republic Day Camp and was awarded the coveted Prime Minister’s Baton. Thereafter, she represented India at the Youth Exchange Programme in Singapore. She is currently preparing for the Services Selection Board interview for joining the Air Force as an officer. “If everything goes well, I will soon be training with the IAF,” Ankit said. “Every student should join the NCC. Most people of my age think that the NCC is all about march past and drill, but it gives one a lot of exposure and actually prepares us for a respectable future,” she added.
