Chandigarh, December 8

The Citizen Awareness Group (CAG) in association with the National Stock Exchange (NSE) organised an investor awareness programme. It was attended by over 100 investors from the tricity.

The programme was organised under the aegis of the Security Market Awareness Campaign launched by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to impart financial literacy.

Surinder Verma, chairman, CAG, said: “Awareness pertaining to stock market is lacking among investors. There had been a lot of hesitance, which eventually lent to a wrong decision due to lack of information. Hence, role of such platforms helps the investors to cope with such situations”.

Vishal Shrivastava, senior manager, NSE, said there had been a dire need to bring awareness of stock and financial market in the masses. Investor must gather information before investing on a company.

He advised one could also go for long term or short-term investment in the market, but subject to the decision of the type of investment. The session was followed by the Q&A session wherein investors cleared their doubts. — TNS
