The PGIMER added one more feather to its cap when a complex coronary angioplasty procedure was transmitted live from the catheterisation lab, Advanced Cardiac Centre (ACC), to a reputed interventional cardiology conference at Orlando, USA.
It was beamed live from the PGI to the 13th Annual Complex Cardiovascular Catheter Therapeutics (C3) conference held at Orlando, USA. The conference is one of the prestigious global interventional cardiology meeting, attended by 1,500 experts from all over the world.
Dr Rajesh Vijayvergiya from the Cardiology Department performed the complex and technically challenging coronary angioplasty of a 60-year-old woman. Prof Vijayvergiya said the PGI was amongst a handful of centres in India, where such a complex procedure is successfully performed.
