249 women constables join ITBP
Chandigarh, July 6
As many as 249 women constables joined the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force (ITBP) after passing out from the Basic Training Centre at Bhanu on Friday. They belonged to the 12th and 13th batch of he General Duty Cadre (Female).
The parade was reviewed by Arvind Kumar, Inspector General, North-West Frontier. Addressing the newly appointed constables, he urged them to strive for professional excellence and uphold the ethos of the force.
The parade was commanded by Priyanka Chaudhary. Varsha Rawat bagged the trophy for being the overall best trainee, while Priyanka Chaudhary, Seema Chauhan, Sunita Bisht, Savita Kumari and Babita Mahato got the trophies in the field of drill, weapons, physical training, firing and sports, respectively.
A demonstration by the ITBP’s “Jaanbaz” team as well as performances by the band and silent drill teams were also organised on the occasion. — TNS
