Ajj sarovar to be developed as tourist spot, says Channi

Kharar, June 25

The Punjab Government would develop Ajj sarovar situated in Kharar into a famous tourist spot. The said sarovar has been associated with ancestors of Lord Rama.

Charanjit Singh Channi, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Minister, visited the sarovar today along with officers of the Punjab Tourism Department and Municipal Council.

The sarovar is spread over an area of around 152 kanals and has been named after Maharaja Ajj, grandfather of Lord Rama.

 Channi said the sarovar would be developed as per its religious importance and would be developed into a tourist destination. 

He said steps would be taken to ensure that boating could also be started here.

Tourism Department’s chief engineer Yogesh Gupta and Kharar MC president Anju Chander, among others, were also present on the occasion.
