In a tragic incident, two youths died on Sunday night when a stray nilgai suddenly came in front of their car. The victims were near Madanheri village on the Kharar-Bassi Pathana road when the incident happened.
As per statement of Jasvir Singh, a resident of Cholta Kalan, his nephew Gurwinder Singh, a resident of Cholta Kalan village and his friend Gurinder Singh, a resident of Raipur village under the Sohana police station had gone to Kheri Kheri Chowk in Fatehgarh Sahib district on Sunday.
After completing their work at Kheri Kheri Chowk they were coming back to Cholta Kalana village in their car bearing registration number PB65Q 8546. Gurinder was driving the car. When they reached near Madanheri village a stray nilgai suddenly came in front of their car. Gurinder tried his best to save the car and applied brakes, but the vehicle went out of control and overturned after hitting trees on right side. Both car occupants were seriously injured and taken to the Civil Hospital, Kharar, where doctors declared them brought dead.
The investigating officer, ASI Karamveer Singh, said as per statement recorded by Jasvir Singh the police proceeded under Section 174, CrPC. The accident occurred suddenly and naturally and there was no fault of anybody, he added.
