Non-Vegetarian Day
In a special assembly conducted at Police DAV Public School, Patiala, Non-Vegetarian Day was celebrated. Jasmine of Pansy House spoke on the topic. She told the benefits of non-vegetarian food and the nutrients they provide. She further told how important is the balanced diet having both vegetarian and non-vegetarian diets. Principal Meena Thapar was also present in the assembly. She applauded the speaker for sharing valuable information.
Annual function
Patiala: Bhupindra International Public School organised the annual function entitled “Divertissement Divin” for the senior wing. The occasion was graced by AS Rai, IGP, Patiala. After the lamp-lighting ceremony by the chief guest, the management and the principal, the function began with a shabad. It was followed by mesmerising musical and dance performances. The students rocked the stage with different dance forms, presenting the vast legacy of India. The multifarious items presented on the stage such as Western dance, Haryanavi dance, garbha, bhangra, etc., captivated the audience. The issue of female foeticide was brought to limelight through a choreography. Qawwali and other music items, presented by students, left everyone spellbound. William Shakespeare's wonderful classic 'Julius Caesar' took everyone to the Roman era. The annual report was shared by the head girl of the school. Prizes and certificates were distributed among the position-holders. The chief guest appreciated the efforts of students and teachers.
Prize-distribution function
Paradise International School celebrated its 17th annual prize distribution function with enthusiasm. Students presented a cultural bonanza on the occasion, which started with the recitation of shabad. Students of Class I presented a dance on ‘nachuu main chum chum’, followed by dance number ‘school chale hum’. Children enacted various stage shows. Sammi, Rajasthani and contemporary dances enthralled the audience. A silent skit based on oneness in all religions, Women Empowerment Act, Swachh Bharat act, Haryanvi dance based on the theme ‘Beti Bachhao, Beti Padhao’ attracted everybody’s attention. A glimpse of the Punjabi culture was depicted in the dance item presented by KG students. Over 500 students participated in this cultural feast. Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill, DIG, Patiala Range, was the chief guest. Dr Gill emphasised the importance of education and motivated the students to achieve their goals. He gave away prizes to the students who excelled in academics, sports and other curricular activities at the national and international levels. TNS
