Doctors of 1968-73 batch of Government Medical College, Patiala, celebrated their golden jubilee alumni meet here on Saturday. As many as 86 medicos, along with their families, attended the celebration.

One of the doctors said it was for the first time that a golden jubilee meet of any batch was being organised ever since the inception of the college.

Doctors said that it was a magical nostalgia as they reconnected with their classmates at a time after so many years. 

Principal BS Sidhu said, “In addition to the faculty and management, the contribution of the alumni in various capacities has been huge for the growth of the institution.”

An alumni e-book of the batch was also launched on the occasion. This was followed by a college tour. 

“It’s a memorable day for all of us. Some of us have come from the US and Europe just to attend the meet,” said Dr Gurpreet Singh Sidhu. Dr Harbans Lal Bansal, one of attendees, said, “A lot has changed over the years, but this event has refreshed our college memories.”
