Patiala, June 19
The Patiala Health Department served a notice to Big Bazaar situated in Omaxe Mall, Patiala, following a complaint from a customer. The customer had purchased eggs from Big Bazaar a few days ago. In the complaint, the customer alleged that the eggs he had purchased were rotten.
Based on the complaint, a team of the Health Department took a sample of eggs from Big Bazaar and sent them for quality check. The report mentioned that the eggs were rotten. A notice is being issued to the manager of Big Bazaar and Omaze Mall to make sure that all perishable food items are to be kept under proper cold chain as per standard so as to prevent any damage to food products. Dr Sidhu, District Health Officer, said in case of violation, stringent action would be taken against them under the Food Standard and Safety Act. — TNS
