Now, generate challan, pay in cash: CHB to allottees

To facilitate those who cannot make online payment for dues, the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) has come up with an alternative. Now, one can generate a challan from the board’s website and make payment through cash or cheque at HDFC Bank.

The CHB had recently provided the online facility for payment of all kinds of dues through its website chbonline.in. Though several allottees have started making online payment through debit card, credit card and online banking, still a considerable number of allottees are making offline payment by filing physical challan in different branches of HDFC Bank in Chandigarh.

However, it has been observed that while filling challans, some of the allottees are making common mistakes, which include using a different challan other than the prescribed one for a particular payment, not mentioning vital information, mentioning wrong information about the dwelling unit number, name of the scheme and allottee name, etc.

Such mistakes are leading to further complications and delay while issuing no dues certificate and transfer letters. To resolve this problem, application for generation of challan for cash/cheque payment has been provided. The allottees, who do not want to make online payment, may generate a challan by visiting the website of the CHB and use the challan for making payment in any of the branch of HDFC Bank within Chandigarh.

To facilitate those who do not have internet facility or facing difficulty in generation of a challan, the following branches of HDFC Bank — Sector 9-D, Sector 22-B, Sector 37-D and Industrial Area, Phase I and II — will assist.
