For the visitors of the world’s famous Rock Garden more attractions are coming up soon. VP Singh Badnore, Administrator, UT, will inaugurate Rag Dolls Village, a dream project of Nek Chand on June 12. Besides this, he will also open a museum of Nek Chand at the third phase of the Rock Garden.

Home Secretary Anurag Agarwal said, “Two new projects will be a tribute to the legendary, Nek Chand, whose second death anniversary is on June 12.”

Anuj Saini, son of Nek Chand, said his father made number of dolls from unused clothes left by the tailors. “Many of the dolls made by him will be displayed in this village. The visitors will get a glimpse of rural life through this village. Bullock carts, wells and other features of the villages will be displayed,” he said.

The third phase will also have museum which will contain various personal collections of Nek Chand, including various awards he had received during his lifetime. His bicycle will also be displayed at the museum.

Rock Garden is a world famous tourist place. Large number of internationals tourists visits the garden every day. An officer said, “There is also plan to open a new exit route for the visitors. They will have to return from the same gate from where they had entered. A new waterfall is also being planned in the garden.”
