NRI hangs himself to death

CHANDIGARH:An NRI, who had arrived in India last month, reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself in a forest area near the Air Force quarters in Sector 31.

An NRI, who had arrived in India last month, reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself in a forest area near the Air Force quarters in Sector 31.

According to the police, the victim has been identified as 48-year-old Paramjit Singh. The victim had arrived from Germany in July. 

He was seen hanging from a tree by a chowkidar in the area. The police were informed, who rushed to the spot. Blood was oozing out from the neck of the victim.  

Sources said the victim had a house in Sector 44. His friends and relatives reached the spot after getting information about the incident.

The body has been kept at the mortuary. Inquest proceedings have been initiated.
