PANCHKULA:A full dress rehearsal as part of preparations for the 73rd Independence Day celebrations was held at the Parade Ground in Sector 5 here today in which Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja hoisted the flag and took the salute of the parade.

A full dress rehearsal as part of preparations for the 73rd Independence Day celebrations was held at the Parade Ground in Sector 5 here today in which Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja hoisted the flag and took the salute of the parade.

Ahuja, while reviewing the rehearsal and arrangements, also gave necessary guidelines to the teachers’ incharge of cultural programmes and officials of the administration for the main programme to be held on Thursday.

He said Health and Sports Minister Anil Vij would unfurl the national flag on the occasion and would also flag off 15 ambulances from the Health Department for various districts of the state. He further directed all officials to complete the necessary arrangements for the main event by Wednesday. Cultural programmes, a PT show and march past were also performed during the rehearsal. — TNS
