Paddlers Pankaj, Neha finish on top

Chandigarh, July 25

Pankaj Sidana of SD College, Sector 32, beat Railways’ Sanil Sikri to clinch the men’s title at the Rajiv Chopra Memorial Open Table Tennis Tournament held at Sector 23 Table Tennis Hall. The women’s title went to Jalandhar’s Neha. She beat Trisha Paul of Titans Academy in the summit clash.

More than 300 padllers participated in the three-day-long tournament, which concluded on July 23.

In the junior category, Shaurya Gupta led the boys’ category, while Trisha Paul topped the girls’ category.

In the sub-junior category, Naman beat his Pinnacle Academy mate Namit to win the boys’ title, while Divyanshi got the better of Vasundhra in the girls’ final.

Tanishka of Yamuna Nagar won the cadet girls’ trophy after beating Mohali’s Sehejpreet in the final. The cadet boys’ title went to Sidhant Kataria, who beat Pinnacle Academy’s Arshit in the final

Pankaj Sidana, meanwhile, emerged as youth boys’ champion, while the veteran men’s title went to Sumit Goel (+40 years) and Subhash Sharma (+60 years). 

Sidhant Kataria of Titans Academy, Mohali’s Sahil Rawat, Daksh of Strawberry Fields School and city’s Mannal topped the junior category.
