Chandigarh, November 18
Palak of Panjab University (PU) claimed the overall lead in the rhythmic event on the penultimate day of the All-India Inter-University Gymnastics Championship. She claimed a sole lead with a total of 35.033 points.
Aditee Dandekar of University of Mumbai claimed the second position by scoring 32.200 points, while Kirandeep Pabla of Kurukshetra University finished third by scoring 28.867 points.
Disha Nidre (28.567 points) of University of Mumbai, Pallavi Halder (27.800 points) of the hosts team, K Priyanka Sagar (21.817 points) of Osmania University Hyderabad, Purnoor Kaushal (21.233 points) of Punjabi University Patiala and Eknoor Kaur (18.867 points) of Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) Amritsar, were the other leaders on the points table.
In the team championship, the PU girls (Pallavi, Shoyana, Palak, Aditi) ended the day at the first spot by scoring 63.467 points. University of Mumbai (Radhika Dharao, Aditee Dandekar, Janhavi Vartak, Disha) remained second with a total score of 60.767 points. Kurukshetra University (Hanika Thapa, Shivani, Rozy, Kirandeep Pabla) claimed the third position by scoring 44.433 points. GNDU (Eknoor, Sarpreet Kaur Sidhu, Ankita Sachdeva, Simranjot Kaur) were fourth with a score of 34.500 points, while University of Delhi (Ishita Sharma, Taruna, Manvi Bindal, Priyanka Dhillon) ended the day at the fifth position by scoring 27.900 points.
Sagar of Mumbai Uni wins Mallakhamb gold
Sagar Ovhalkar of University of Mumbai scored 8.35 points to win the gold in the All-India Inter-University Mallakhamb Championship. Susuhat Patil of Shivaji University, Kohlapur, claimed the second position with a score of 8.20 points.
Rajveer Panwar of Vikram University, Ujjain, finished third with 8.10 points. Deepak Shinde (8 points) of University of Mumbai, Kunal Darvan (7.7 points) of Shivaji University, Krishna Kale (7.60 points) of SPP University Pune, Rohit (7.60 points) and Jaywant (7.40 points) of KBC North Maharashtra University Jalgaon were the other winners.
The Shivaji University team won the overall team championship by scoring 35.90 points. North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, claimed the second position with a score of 35.10 points, while Sant Gadge Amravati University finished third with 30.80 points.
Vikram University (29 points), Savitribai Phule Pune University (27.80 points) and Dr BAMU Aurangabad University (27.50 points) were the other top performers.
