Patiala bag overall trophy

Patiala bagged the overall trophy with 56 points in Punjab State Games for Men (under 25), that concluded at Raja Bhalindra Singh Stadium, here today. Jalandhar bagged the second place with 38 points while Ludhiana remained on the third spot with 31 points.
Dr JPS Walia, retired orthopedician of Rajindera Hospital, Patiala, was the chief guest on the occasion. He gave away prizes to the winners and encouraged participants to participate in sports activities.
In the final match of badminton, Jalandhar team won gold medal by defeating Patiala team 3-1 while Gurdaspur and Fazilka teams were jointly declared third and won bronze.
In basketball, Jalandhar team won the gold medal by defeating hosts Patiala by 84-75 points while Ludhiana ousted Kapurthala by 64-44 points and settle for the bronze.
In Fencing, Fatehgarh Sahib team remained winner with 38 points while Patiala won silver medal with 32 points and Gurdaspur team got bronze with 17 points. The Patiala team also won gold medal in football with
2-0 points.
Dignitaries, including Darshan Singh Mann, SSP, Karam Singh, Deputy Director, NIS, and Padam Shree Bhadur Singh, chief athletics coach of India, were also present on the occasion.
