Occupants of a SUV and police personnel riding a PCR vehicle had a narrow escape after their vehicles met with an accident at the Sector 3/4/9/10 roundabout here on Saturday afternoon.
The SUV turned turtle, while the PCR vehicle hit the roundabout.
Sources said Udit, a resident of Panchkula, along with his mother and sister, was going towards the MLA hostel in Sector 3 here in a Toyota Fortuner when a PCR vehicle that was rushing to a spot hit the SUV from one of the sides.
The sources claimed that the PCR vehicle overturned after the mishap. Both vehicles were badly damaged in the accident.
The police said no one suffered injuries. The SUV driver and the policeman driving the PCR vehicle blamed each other for the accident.
The sources said Udit was going to the MLA hostel to drop his family members after which he was supposed to reach Government College, Sector 11, to appear for an examination.
The matter was reported to the police, following which cops from the Sector 3 police station rushed to the spot.
The police said an investigation has been initiated into the matter.
