The Post Graduate Government College (PGGC), Sector 46, was established in 1982. It became a co-educational institution in 1992. The college is spread over 11 acres. It was evaluated by NAAC for cycle-II accreditation with Grade A in September 2015. The college has recently received a grant of Rs 1 crore from the Ministry of Human Resources Development, New Delhi.
The college informs that it is the oldest in city to have the MCom course and that it has introduced BBA and BCA courses this year, which was pending for the past five years. The infrastructure at the college includes e-classrooms, computerised labs, language lab, fully computerised administrative block, auditorium complex and a gymnasium. A green house, herbal garden and a solar power plant is maintained to make the campus environment-friendly.
The college library has more than 41,077 books and subscribes to 47 periodicals/magazines, 28 journals and 17 newspapers. Its theatre team had reached the north zone inter-university level in one-act play and skit in 2016.
