Synonymous with excellence, the Post Graduate Government College for Girls (PGGCG), Sector 11, has NAAC accreditation score of 3.52 and has been ranked 68th in the college category in NIRF Ranking 2018 of the MHRD. The college ranked sixth among the cleanest higher education institutions in the country in the category “Government Institutions” in Swachhata Ranking 2017 by the MHRD. The college has recently been selected for collaboration in Unnat Bharat Abhiyan.

With a sprawling 35 acre campus and a total constructed area of 58,116 sq mt, the college has 15 lush green lawns with pergolas and 4,000 shady trees in addition to Solace Garden, Herbal Garden, Botanical Garden and a greenhouse nurturing specific plants of medicinal value and rare varieties.

The amply spacious playgrounds, indoor badminton court and state-of-the-art gymnasium cater to the necessities of all field events and games.

A fully air-conditioned common room, “Cozy Cove”, is a stress reliever and recreational centre for students after their busy academic routine. The daycare centre provides emotional satisfaction to working mothers with their kids in safe and secure hands within the premises of the college. CCTV cameras have also been installed on the campus for safety and security.

As many as 4,077 students were enrolled during the academic session 2017-18 with more than 570 students residing in three hostels. The fourth hostel is nearing completion with a resident capacity of 400 students.

Facilities in hostels

The hostels are equipped with ramps for ‘divyaang’, the ground floor is provided for visually-impaired students and there is a wheelchair in every hostel. There is a common room for residents in each hostel. There is a dispensary with 24x7 availability of nurse.

New courses added

The college will be starting MA Psychology and an add-on course in Event Management and a self-financing short-term in Spoken English from this academic session.

Courses offered

There are five research centres for pursuing doctorate in music instrumental, music vocal, dance, English, chemistry and Central Instrumentation Centre for research scholars in science faculty.
