Panchkula, July 2
As already more than 1,400 people have been bitten by stray dogs in Panchkula in the past six months, the Panchkula Municipal Corporation has decided to install ultrasonic repeller at public places to keep stray dogs away from those areas.
Initially, the MC Commissioner had purchased 10 dog ultrasonic repellents on a trial basis by spending money from his own pocket. But these repellents were not for large area like public places. These were for individual use only.
MC Commissioner Rajesh Jogpal said out of these 10 devices, he had given two to public, including one to the person whose wife was attacked by a pet dog of his neighbour. Besides, he himself used the device on his own. As the results are good, they are now going for such device, which can stop stray dogs from quite a good range at public places he said.
The MC Commissioner further said these devices were common in abroad and these were not harmful for animals too.
