NZCC Programme Executive Yashwinder Sharma welcomed audience and chief guest SK Monga IAS ( Retd.) who performed the Shama Roshan ceremony and later honoured the participating poets. He said such programmes enriched our composite cultural heritage.

Veritably titled as 'Adab Ahvaan' the literary soiree commenced with a thought provoking poem on ethics of life by 93 years old poet Kidar Nath Kidar followed by a didactic verse on patriotism by Urdu poet Ashok Nadir with oblique reference to relationships with China and Pakistan.

However the day belonged to poetess Mehak Bharti and painter poet Vigyan Varat whose ghazals like ' Aur suno kaise ho tum..' had been immortalized by legendary ghazal king Jagjit Singh.

Other poets who impressed most include Kashish Bharti, Musavvir Firozepuri, Sikander Hayat Gadbad besides Isha Naaz, Dr Zia Tonkvi, Naveen Neer and above all Shams Tabrezi who read out his nazams and also conducted the mushiara with poetic acumen.
