Prof BN Goswamy, eminent historian and Emeritus Professor, Department of Art, History and Visual Arts, Panjab University (PU) unveiled a portrait of writer Dr Mulk Raj Anand in the foyer of the auditorium, Arts Block I of the PU, on Saturday.

Prof Arun K Grover, PU VC, was present. Prof Goswamy said Dr Mulk Raj Anand’s sense of art, literature and politics remained unparallel.

Sharing his memories with Dr Anand, he said Anand promoted art in a big way and motivated all towards art.

He said the Fine Art Museum at the PU was having one of the most valuable and finest collections of art pieces. In 1960s, Anand had served as Tagore Professor of Literature and Fine Arts, PU, he added.
