Prem Bhatia lecture series starts

The Department of Journalism at GGDSD College here on Monday launched the Prem Bhatia lecture series by hosting a seminar on the topic, “Safety of Journalists Covering Conflict and Sensitive Issues”.

Veteran journalist Shyam Bhatia, a son of the late Prem Bhatia, was the chief speaker. GGDSD College Society president Upkar Krishan Sharma accorded a warm welcome to Shyam Bhatia.

College principal Dr Bhushan K Sharma said, “The Prem Bhatia lecture series will provide a platform to distinguished personalities from the field of journalism in our college and impart our students with professional knowledge and build their skills.” 

Shyam Bhatia apprised students of the world of  journalism and talked about his experiences as well as problems faced by newsmen throughout the world. He gave students an idea of what it takes to be a war correspondent. “The golden rule to advance in journalism is that passion and curiosity,” he said.
