Ambala, May 10
Schools associated with the Federation of Private Schools’ Welfare Association in the district remained closed today to mark their protest against the non-payment of fee for students from the economically weaker sections (EWS) under Rule 134A.
They also submitted a memorandum for the Chief Minister through the district administration.
Kulbhushan Sharma, state president of the association and national president of the National Independent School Alliance (NISA), said: “Private schools of Ambala district are on strike against non-payment of reimbursement under Rule 134A. About Rs 500 crore is yet to be paid by the government.” — TNS
