PU students to visit Nottingham Trent varsity under exchange programme

For the first time, a batch of about 80 students from different departments of Panjab University is going to Nottingham Trent University, under the student exchange programme.

Prof Deepti Gupta, Dean of International Students, informed about the development in a press conference on the campus on Friday.

Earlier, students from Nottingham Trent University had also visited the PU for a two-week programme.

Prof Gupta also informed about the admission criteria for foreign as well as NRI students. Now, in case of foreign nationals from non-English speaking countries, TOEFL or IELTS scores are required. The seats for foreign nationals will be additional to the already notified seats subject to maximum of five per cent of total sanctioned strength.

NRI admissions

NRIs have to produce the test scores of the Scholastic Aptitude Test-II conducted by the Educational Testing Service, Princeton, US, for admission to undergraduate courses. For postgraduate courses, they have to produce the score of Graduate Record Examination (GRE) and GMAT. Their merit will be calculated on the basis of their score in SAT-II or GRE or GMAT.

The admission to all engineering courses against NRI quota in the University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), University Institute of Chemical Engineering and Technology (UICET) and the PU Regional Centre, Hoshiarpur, will be admissible through the Direct Admissions Students Abroad (DASA).

The seats of NRI quota will not be converted to general category.

International students who have been studying in India and are present in India at the time of the PhD CET will have to sit for the test and clear it in order to be considered for enrollment.

The international students who are not present in India at the time of the Panjab University PhD CET will need to achieve at least Band 5 in IELTS Academic or 60 in TOEFL or 150-154 in GRE or 600 in GMAT. At the time of filling the enrollment form, the candidate must attach of the score in any one of the above tests.
