The Panchkula police have arrested Punjab Police Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Makhan Singh in connection with Dera Sacha Sauda Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s escape bid on August 25.
A senior police official said the accused policeman was produced in a local court which remanded him in two-day police custody.
The Panchkula police have already arrested a police official of Rajasthan, eight of Haryana, including commandos posted in the security of the dera chief, three Punjab policemen and one head constable of Chandigarh police in this regard. —TNS
