Mohali, May 13

After remaining silent and evading the media for a month after the firing incident on April 14, Punjabi singer Parmish Verma finally broke his silence on social media.

A message, apparently posed by Verma, was seen uploaded on the singer’s Facebook page and Instagram in which he intended to clear the air about the attack in which he and his friend Kulwant Singh had received bullet injuries on their knees. A photo, showing the singer with his pet, has also been uploaded on the social media along the message in question.

The message reads as ‘Sat Sri Akal, I am truly humbled by the love and concern you have shown me over the past few weeks. I deeply appreciate it. I am feeling much better now. There is something I wanted to clear the air about. The incident that took place was purely a threat for extortion. I have no enmity with anyone. I have never been involved directly or indirectly with people I am falsely being associated with by certain media and social media channels. It is my heartfelt appeal to not drag anyone’s family or any of their family members into this. Families are valued and treasured by everyone alike. It can be extremely tormenting for a family to go through times like these. Please do not treat them unjustly. I don’t want any family to endure what my family has. I pray no other mother suffers like mine has. I am extremely grateful to you for your prayers, your love and your patience. I hope to return among you really soon, fit enough to entertain. Thank you for all your love and support. It means everything to me. Parmish Verma’.

It is to be noted that Verma and his friend were shot at around 12.30 am on April 14 in Mohali when they were returning to home from Chandigarh. The duo was shifted to Fortis Hospital here from where they were discharged on April 17. Verma, his family members and acquaintances had been maintaining distance from the media after the attack to date.
