Punjabi University today said the university had witnessed a rise in the number of applicants for admission at various departments as compared to the last year. Vice Chancellor (VC) Dr BS Ghuman today visited various departments to review the admission process.
Officials said the university had witnessed a rise in the number of applicants and it had received over 23,000 applications against 18,000 applications received last year. The university said the portals are open for PhD and M Phil where applications are still being received.
Officials said the university had taken a number of steps for increment in admissions this year after which students from other states, including Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Himachal and Rajasthan reached the university.
University officials said courses, including MSc Chemistry, Zoology, Physics, Human genetics, MBA and MA Punjabi and various others have received positive response from the applicants.
