Rank 9 for Rachit of Patiala

Patiala, April 27

Rachit Bansal of Patiala bagged the an all-India rank (AIR) 9 in the JEE (advanced), results of which were declared by the IIT Madras on Sunday. Rachit took coaching for the exam from from Chandigarh.

Apart from him, Manan Jindal (32), Harkanwar Singh (81), Saksham Gupta (624), Ashwini Sharma (994), Harshita Bharti (1966) and Devang Mahesh (2799) also cleared the exam. All students, except Manan Jindal, are from Bhupindra International Public School (BIPS), Patiala.

Notably, around 2 lakh students had cleared the JEE (main). The exam is a gateway to all IITs, NITs and other centrally-funded institutions that have been considered the best in the country.

 A resident of Phulkian Enclave, Rachit had bagged the 95th rank in the JEE (main). Commenting over his success, Rachit said, “It is a fantastic achievement. I have worked hard to achieve it  and always dreamed of becoming a computer engineer from the IIT Bombay.” He dedicated his success to his family members and schoolteachers. He said, “I have leaned a lot from my father and brother, who are both engineers. I have also started an intensive coaching to crack the exam.” 

Rachit further added that he had keen interest in physics and wanted to do research in the subject. “I studied for 6-7 hours daily since joining Class IX and understood all concepts in depth, which helped me in attaining the success,” Rachit added.

Manan Jindal, who is the son of Narain Dass, an SDO in the Patiala MC, also wants to be a computer engineer from IIT-Bombay.

While talking about his success mantra, he said, “I have worked very hard for this. I used to study almost 10 hours a day.” He said his parents, other family members and teachers helped him a lot and always motivated him.

Indu Sharma, principal, BIPS, congratulated the students and their parents for the success. She said the school always provided toppers in academics and extra-curricular activities by honing their skills.
