Report illegal construction to CHB on phone

To ensure effective action against unauthorised constructions, the Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) has issued a telephone number, 6284646446, on which residents can call of send WhatsApp messages regarding any illegal construction that comes to their notice.

The name of the person making the complaint will not be revealed.

Besides, a dedicated enforcement division has been created, which is headed by an Executive Engineer-level officer, who has been designated the Enforcement Officer. There will be two subdivisions, each headed by an SDE-level officer, who will be designated the Deputy Enforcement Officer.

The Deputy Enforcement Officer and staff will visit their assigned area on a daily basis. They will immediately serve a challan on the allottee/occupant. The competent authority (Secretary, CHB) shall immediately issue a notice-cum-demolition order.

In case the illegal construction is not stopped even the notice-cum-demolition order is served, it will be demolished the very next day by the Deputy Enforcement Officer and a report will be submitted to the Enforcement Officer, who, in turn, will bring it in the notice of the Secretary.
