Ritish helps ESCA beat NWCA

An all-round show by Ritish Thakur helped Eicher School Cricket Academy (ESCA), Parwanoo, register a seven-wicket win over Narinder Walia Cricket Academy (NWCA), Panchkula, in a Summer Cup match at St Soldiers School grounds here on Thursday.

Batting first, NWCA were all out for 126 runs in 24 overs. Tanmay Latka (26), Aasees Bawa (24) and Sainyam Singla (20) made useful contributions to the total. Thakur was the pick of the bowlers for ESCA, claiming 3/5. Suraj took 2/20.

In reply, ESCA rode on Divyansh’s unbeaten 58-run knock to reach home in 23rd over. Thakur contributed 18 runs to the chase.

Udhav (1/20), Tanmay (1/27) and Aditya Bisht (1/32) took a wicket apiece for NWCA.

Puneet, Daman impress

Puneet Singh hammered a half-century before Damanpreet Singh claimed a four-for to help Tricity Employees XI seal a convincing 73-run win over Knights XI in a Champions Corporate League match at DAV School grounds in Chandigarh. 

Batting first, Tricity Employees XI scored 226/4 in 20 overs, with Puneet hitting a 32-ball 63. Bharat Bhushan made 47 off 34 balls, while Prabhjot Singh added a quick-fire 35 to the total. 

Govind Sharma, Naveen and Ankur took a wicket each for Knights XI.

Needing to score 11.35 runs per over for victory, Knights XI were all out for 153 runs. Damanpreet led the Tricity Employees XI attack with figures of 4/21, while Balwinder claimed 3/24.

Naveen (49) did the bulk of scoring for Knights XI. Pritam made 29 off 28 balls.

Akashdeep shines with ball

In the ongoing U-16 Inter-Academy Tournament for Hara Cup, CT Public School, Jalandhar, beat Hara Cricket Academy (HCA) by eight wickets. 

Batting first, HCA were all out for 118 runs in 25 overs. Simran scored 30 runs for the side, while Akashdeep returned with figures of 4/14. 

In reply, CT Public School scampered home in 21 overs. Krish made 49 runs, while Kartik contributed 25 runs to the chase.

Jatin scores ton

A fine century by Jatin helped Aurvindo Cricket Club beat Achievers School Cricket, Landran, by 104 runs in a Hot Weather Championship match in Patiala on Thursday.   

Batting first, Aurvindo Club piled 305 runs in 40 overs, with Jatin hammering a strokeful 105. Swastik made 50 runs, while Saurv Thakur chipped in with 47 runs. Divansh hit a quick-fire 40.

In reply, Achievers School were all out for 201 runs in 37.3 overs even as Rhitwik scored a defiant 84.

Divansh (3/33) and Swastik (3/27) took three wickets each for Aurvindo Club, while Kabir grabbed 2/34.

In another match, the hosts Black Elephant Cricket Club (BECC) defeated TCA Agra by five runs. 

Electing to bat, BECC scored 167 runs in 35.3 overs. Arsh made 62 runs, while Aryan Yadav added 29 runs to the total. Shivan (3/20) and Aryan (3/29) picked three wickets apiece. 

TCA, in reply, were all out for 162. Haider Ali Khan was the wrecker-in-chief for the hosts, claiming 4/34. Karan took 2/17. 

Deepak (48) was the top scorer for TCA. Utkarsh contributed 33 runs to the chase.
