Riya sets up title clash with Harleen

Third seed Riya Kaushik registered a 4-2 5-4(2) win over Jyotsana to reach the girls’ U-16 final in the ongoing Roots-AITA National Ranking Championship in Zirakpur on Friday.
In the final, Riya will face fourth seed Harleen Kaur, who upset second seed Radhika Vasudeva 4-2 4-1 in the semifinals.
Harleen also reached the girls’ U-14 finals after drubbing Vanya Arora 4-0 4-0 in the semifinals.
In the boys’ U-16 semifinals, Navya Verma rallied from a set down to stun top seed Nishank Thakur. Verma lost the first set 2-4, but came back strongly to win the next set 4-1. He then beat Thakur 10-4 in the tie-breaker to stay in contention for the title.
