Robbers snatch Rs 2.40 lakh in Rajpura

Two motorcycle-borne robbers on Wednesday afternoon snatched a bag containing Rs 2.40 lakh from an elderly man in Rajpura, the police said.

Surinder Singh, a resident of Dhindsa village, had withdrawn the cash from the State Bank of India branch. Surinder Singh and his son had come to Rajpura to take cash in the bank after their FD (Fixed deposit) got matured.

Surinder Singh and his son were standing outside the Patel School, Rajpura, when a motorbike passed by him and snatched the bag containing the money, and fled, said police. 

Surinder chased the robbers and tried to nab them but Surindder failed to catch them.— TNS
