Chandigarh: Ryan International School, Chandigarh, organised a session on career counselling by Hitesh Sharma for students of Classes XI and XII, Classes IX and X, respectively.  Hitesh Sharma, a business graduate from a premier business school, offered an insight into the importance of analysing one’s aptitude in order to decide avenues for higher education. He administrated a psychometric test on the assembled students so that they could analyse their areas of intelligence.

Saupin’s School      

Chandigarh: Saupin's 32 English literary club hosted their annual inter-school poetry recitation competition, celebrating the works of the poet, John Donne. As many as 28 schools from the tricity participated. The students impressed with their oratorial skills.  The 1st prize in the junior category (Classes VI to VIII) was bagged by Keshav Bindal of Bhavan Vidhyala, Sector 27. The 2nd prize went to Gurbani Mann of St Kabir School, and the 3rd prize was won by Vedaa Anand of Strawberry Fields. In the senior category, the 1st prize was won by Akshara Bhalla of Saupin's 32 and the 2nd and the 3rd prizes went to Nandita Gupta of Carmel Convent and Vivikta of Chitkara School, respectively. The running trophy was awarded to Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector 27, for overall best performance in the competition.

Satluj Public School      

Panchkula: On the occasion of World Photography Day, Satluj Public School, Sector 4, Panchkula, conducted a workshop on photography. Students and teachers learnt lighting, backdrop, lenses, different angles and poses. Principal Krit Serai said: “Hobbies are part of holistic education and the photography club is popular among students.”

Learning Paths School     

Chandigarh: World Robot Olympiad, a national-level robotics championship, concluded at Learning Paths School, Mohali. Around 30 teams participated in the championship. Apeejay School, Jalandhar, Robogenius Academy, Chandigarh, and Learning Paths School, Mohali, bagged the first, second and third positions, respectively. The winning teams will compete in the national championship to be held in Ahmedabad and then compete at int’l level to be held in Thailand.  

Stepping Stones Sr Sec School     

Chandigarh: Stepping Stones Senior Secondary School observed swachhta week. Students from Classes VI to X prepared PPTs, held discussions, prepared paper presentations and engaged in role plays to learn that personal cleanliness was essential for good health and vitality. This was followed by the theme on environmental cleanliness, where students prepared posters, held demonstrations on rain water harvesting, PPTs on avoiding use of plastic bags and keeping our environment safe. Students of Class VI made cards for their grandparents. Students of Classes VII to X prepared PPTs and collages on ‘Being polite’. The week ended with a poster-making competition for Classes VI to VIII and an extempore competition for Classes IX and X.

AKSIPS-41 Smart School     

Chandigarh: The representatives of Frazer Valley, British Columbia, Canada, organised a business quiz called Q-Biz at AKSIPS-41 Smart School. The quiz comprised three rounds. The school round was held where Aditya Jain of Class XII, Raghav Sharma of Class XI and Samanyu Sood of Class XII were declared first, second and third, respectively.

Mount Carmel School      

Chandigarh: To enhance the creativity among the students, Class1-A gave a presentation on benefits of vegetables. The emphasis was on healthy eating and nutritive value of each vegetable. Students presented the concept beautifully. — TNS
