Chandigarh: Children’s Day was celebrated at Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School here with fervour on Wednesday. The theme of the day was “With Love – From teachers to students”. A colourful vista of activities, including a spectacular fashion show, scintillating dance performances and witty Qawwali, presented by teachers of the junior wing enthralled tiny tots. A special assembly was arranged by senior wing teachers to express their love and appreciation for students. Patiala: Children’s Day was celebrated at St Xavier’s International School, Patiala, with enthusiasm. Celebrations began with a prayer service conducted by teachers of preparatory wing. It was followed by a colorful fancy-dress competition, in which students from Nursery to Class II participated. Students came to the school in colorful dresses. A colourful dance on the song, “Chota bacha jaan ke”, was presented by teachers of the primary wing. An interesting skit on the importance of education was staged by students of Classes IX and X.

Modern Senior Secondary School, Patiala, organised an on-the-spot painting competition on Wednesday to celebrate Children’s Day. The competition was held in an open space and the theme for it was, “Punjab”. Around 500 students from other schools took part in it .
