Saksham beats Sahil, claims title

Mohali, November 19

Saksham Goel humbled Sahil Rawat 3-1 to win the cadet boys (U-12) title at the Mohali District Table Tennis Championship held at the GMADA Sports Complex, Sector 78, here today. Jugadveer overcame Arenraj 3-2 to finish third. 

The girls’ cadet title went to Pragatipriya after registered a 3-1 win over Kirti 3-1 in the final. In the third place playoff, Sehajpreet edged past Khushi Saini 3-1.

In the girls’ sub-junior (U-15) final, Simran Rawat blanked Bhavneet Kaur 3-0. Sehajpreet beat Parneet Kaur to claim the third spot. 

Jaskanwal overcame Ishan Kapoor 3-2 to win the boys’ sub-junior title. Jasjot Singh finished third after he beat Sankalp 3-1 in the playoff.

Aarushi, meanwhile, dismissed Ananya 4-0 to clinch the junior girls (U-18) title. Parvita blanked Simran Rawat 3-0 to end third. 

The boys’ junior title went to Harman Saini. He tamed Ishan Kapoor 4-1 in the final. Jaskanwal beat Jasjot Singh 3-2 to bag third position. 

Sixty paddlers from across Mohali district participated in the two-day championship, during which the Mohali district team for the upcoming Punjab State Championship was also selected. — TNS
