Sandeep wins gold, silver for Raja

Chandigarh, March 8 

Sandeep bagged the shot put gold on the opening day of the 72nd Punjab Engineering College (PEC) annual athletics meet here on Friday. Raja claimed the silver, while Saurabh took home the bronze medal.

Gauravdeep raced to 5000m gold. Harsh and Vivekanad followed in second and third places respectively. 

Dikshant topped the podium in the boys’ high jump competition. Ravtej clinched the silver, while Tanishq won the bronze.

In the 4800m cycling competition, Yuvraj claimed the gold medal, while Jatin Hooda returned with the silver. Harsh had to be content with the bronze medal. 

Ravtej, Anito and Aniket claimed the top-three positions respectively in long jump, while Tanishq raced to 800m gold. He was followed by Uditanshu and Gauravdeep in second and third places respectively. 

In the girls’ category, Nandini Sharma won the gold medal in discus throw. Rachel bagged the silver, while Harman Sahini ended her campaign with a bronze medal. 

Ivy, Jaideep and Puneet Kaur won the top-three positions, respectively, in high jump, while Muskan won the gold medal in the slow cycling competition. Anubhuti finished second.
