St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, Chandigarh, bagged the first position as “The Best Eco Club” of the tricity for their outstanding activities in creating awareness about environmental issues in society. The award was handed over by TC Nautiyal, Conservator of Forests-cum-Secretary, Chandigarh Pollution Board, to Principal Monica Chawla during Environment Day Celebrations organised by the Department of Environment, Chandigarh Administration, and Yuvsatta at Elante Mall. The school received a cash prize, trophy and a certificate.

Bhavan Vidyalaya

As part of the concluding ceremony of the 10-day workshop, children in the age group of five to 12 years danced to the tunes of various songs at Bhavan Vidyalaya School, Sector 27, Chandigarh. The workshop was organised by internationally renowned classical dancers from the tricity — Rahul Gupta and Nandini Gupta.

The Millennium School, Mohali

A 10-day summer camp culminated with great elation and delirium at The Millennium School, Mohali. It started off with a special assembly, followed by yoga asanas. Stupendous dance performances and enriching speeches were applauded by all.  Students enthusiastically participated in challenging and engaging activities. Principal Jasleen Kaur Sabharwal congratulated parents for encouraging their wards in creative pursuits.

Blue Bird High School, P’kula

A robotics summer camp was organised at Blue Bird High School, Sector 16, Panchkula, with zeal and zest. Around 20 students participated in it. Junior group worked with Lego kits and made remote control model, racing car and robotic snake and senior group worked with microcontrollers and made a room cleaning robot and a smart spoon for people who were suffering with Parkinson’s disease. 

Gurukul Global, Mani Majra

Students of Class VIII of Gurukul Global School, Mani Majra, did research and made a collage on flex, showcasing the five most commonly afflicted diseases in India and South Africa. The research included the disease, its causative agents and causative factors. A questionnaire was then circulated to gauze the understanding level of the students. The information regarding the preventive measures, drugs, vaccines and immunizations was documented in the scrap files.

AKSIPS-125, Kharar

To beat the heat, AKSIPS-125, Kharar, organised a summer camp for students on the school campus. Various activities were covered in this camp. Students enthusiastically participated in activities such as art and craft, dramatics, dance etc. Amidst the fun of camp games, songs and talent shows, campers met new friends and strengthened existing friendships.
