Traders of Sector 22-B here on Thursday met Finance Secretary Ajoy Kumar Sinha with a demand to scrap the proposal of the UT Administration to shift the parking from the sector.
Subhash Narang, president of the Traders Welfare Association, said they raised their concern with Sinha.
The traders of the market were opposing the move of the Administration. In a memorandum submitted to the Finance Secretary, the traders said the move was unjustified as it would badly affect their business.
Hargobind Singh Gill, another member of the association, said the proposal was against the original plan of the market.
Meanwhile, Anil Vohra, president, Chandigarh Beopar Mandal, also extended his support to the traders. He said this was totally injustice with the traders who were running their shops here for the past three decades. It would ruin their business.
It was also decided that a deputation of the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal, along with the office-bearers of the Sector 22B market, would soon meet the UT Adviser in this regard.
