The Hockey Stadium at the Sector 42 Sports Complex is going through a major revamp --- not for hosting any international championship, but for the shooting of the upcoming Punjabi movie based on the life of hockey player Sandeep Singh.

The shooting of the movie will start at the stadium tomorrow, but the crew has already started painting a patch of spectators’ stands, installing hoardings and other essential equipment for the shoot.

“The ground has been booked for the shooting of the movie and they are making the arrangements on their own,” said the manager of the complex.

Earlier in April, the authorities had permitted a shooting crew during the players’ practice hours. However, this time, a separate arena has been kept for the practice.

“The ground has been booked under certain conditions, which will be followed both by us and the other party. They need to change certain things and they are doing it on their own, not at the cost of any damage to our property,” an official said on condition of anonymity.
