Chandigarh: The primary wing of Shishu Niketan Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 22-D, Chandigarh, celebrated Christmas with gusto. Attired in red colour, the tiny-tots enjoyed dance and carol singing with their teachers. Beaming with joy, the little ones posed for the camera with the person dressed as Santa Claus, who brought cake and gifts for them. Principal Amita Khorana greeted everyone and advised students to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Infant Jesus Convent

Mohali: Infant Jesus Convent School, Phase XI, Mohali, celebrated Christmas with fervour. A beautiful power point presentation was shown that depicted the history of Christmas. Thereafter, the Infantines put up a vibrant and colourful spectacle. Rev Fr Robert, Chancellor, Simla Chandigarh Diocese, and secretary to the bishop, was the chief guest. The school also released a short trailer of a documentary, ‘Dunia Badalegi’. The glorious evening concluded with the vote of thanks and refreshments.

Delhi Public School

Chandigarh: Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, organised the annual prize distribution function of Classes IV and V in the form of a field show titled ‘Celestial Charisma’ - a starry episode. Dr Joseph Emmanuel, Regional Officer, CBSE, , Panchkula, was the chief guest. Principal Reema Dewan addressed the audience and emphasised on the importance of building confidence among children through mass participation in class shows.

Learning Paths School

Mohali: LKG class of Learning Paths School, Mohali, staged a musical, ‘The Wishing Cap’, on Christmas. About 90 students performed with in colorful costumes and sang melodious carols exhibiting the essence of Christmas to the core. The story revolved around a boy searching for the owner of a lost cap, spreading the message of honesty and generosity. The play spread the message of honesty and generosity, celebrating the true spirit of Christmas.

Bhavan Vidyalaya

Panchkula: Bhavan Vidyalaya, Sector-15, Panchkula, organised its Sports Day at the sprawling Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Panchkula. The event commenced with the arrival of the special guest, N Satyan, District Sports and Youth Affairs Officer, Panchkula. There was a fine display of rhythmic gymnastics. Young athletes participated in a flat race, three-legged race, skipping race and other events. Amazing Yoga demonstrations livened up the atmosphere. Aerobics and acrobatics kept the audience glued to their seats.

Strawberry Public

Zirakpur: Strawberry Public School, Baltana, organised a Christmas party on the school premises. Tiny tots of the school dressed in red attire mesmerised all with their performances, including dance and songs. The choir sang popular Christmas carols to mark the occasion. An animated video depicting the birth of Jesus Christ was appreciated by all. Principal Kamal Chadha appreciated the efforts of the teachers for organising the programmes. Later, Christmas gifts were distributed among students.

Manav Mangal Smart World School 

Zirakpur: Christmas was celebrated with gaiety by tiny tots of Manav Mangal Smart World School, Zirakpur, on Saturday. They reflected upon the teachings of Jesus Christ and his life. The tiny tots of KG, Classes I and II sang carols and danced to the numbers such as ‘We wish you a Merry Christmas’. The whole school echoed with holy hymns recited by the students. Later, a student dressed as Santa Claus gave them sweets. 

Dikshant Global

Zirakpur: A ‘Think Lab’, was inaugurated at Dikshant Global School by Dera Bassi MLA NK Sharma. The ‘Think Lab’ set up at the school will help students learn innovation skills and sculpt new ideas. The lab has been envisaged to be the hub for innovation, invention, making, tinkering and giving shape to ideas which help solve local and global problems using technology. 

Jainendra School

Panchkula: Jainendra School, Panchkula, organised a plethora of activities to mark ‘National Maths Day’. The programme commenced with a speech dedicated to the great mathematician, S Ramanujan. The highlights of the programme was an interesting mathematical quiz. Six teams of students were selected from Classes VI to X, who were chosen from these classes through a written test. Various activities were hosted in open science and mathematical park where difficult concepts were simplified in a fun-filled manner. Different tricks from Vedic maths were also displayed for the students to ease down different calculations. TNS
