Chandigarh, September 14

Shishu Niketan Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 22, registered a 5-2 win over Shishu Niketan Public School, Sector 43, to enter the final of the St Xavier’s Six-a-Side Soccer Championship here today.

Rigzin, Gaurav and Ridham scored for the Sector 22 school, while Harshit reduced the deficit for the Sector 43 outfit. 

St Xavier’s eye twin titles

In the boys U-12 competition, hosts St Xavier’s, Sector 44, continued their impressive run in the tournament as they held their Mohali counterparts to a 2-2 draw today to stay on top and move into the final.  

Aarav scored a brace for the hosts, while Ishaan and Jaskirat struck a goal each for St Xavier’s, Mohali.

The other team to reach the final is St Kabir School. 

Meanwhile, the match between Shishu Niketan and Saupin’s School, Sector 32, ended in a goalless draw.

Saupin’s boys later succumbed 1-4 to St Joseph’s School. Arnav scored a hat-trick, while Divine struck once for St Joseph’s. Mansukh was the lone scorer for Saupin’s School.

Hosts beat St Joseph’s 4-0

Hosts St Xavier’s also reached the boys’ U-14 final. They will play Shishu Niketan School, Sector 43, for the title tomorrow.

In their last league match, the hosts blanked St Joseph’s School 4-0. Kushaan, Ujjwal, Abhishek and Angad scored a goal each for the hosts.

Shishu Niketan boys overcame Saupin’s School 2-1 in their last league match.

Chirag scored both the goals for Shishu Niketan, while Vihan rallied home for Saupin’s School.

Later in the day, Saupin’s School beat St Xavier’s, Panchkula, 1-0. Utkarsh scored the only goal of the match. 

St Joseph’s played out a 4-4 draw against St Kabir School, Sector 26. Divansh and Gurkirat scored a brace each for St Joseph’s, while Rushil (2), Pranay and Nimit struck for St Kabir.
