Shishu Niketan Model School, Sector 22-D, Chandigarh, celebrated its annual function, ‘ANGELIC BEATS’, at the school campus. A cultural programme was organised which included dance performances. Prerna Puri, Director, Census Operation, and Joint Registrar (birth and death), Haryana, was the chief guest. Students from Nursery to Class V participated with enthusiasm. The programme commenced with the lighting of a ceremonial lamp followed by ‘Ganesh Vandana’. Principal Amita Khorana read the annual report of the school. Accolades were bestowed upon outstanding performers in the fields of scholastic, co-scholastic and sports.
Govt School, Mani Majra
School playground was filled with enthusiasm and zeal as the school celebrated its first cluster-level athletics meet. As many as six city schools from cluster no. 18 participated in various track and field events. The chief guest on the occasion was Mukesh Anand, Chief Engineer, Chandigarh. A march past was held by three contingents of the school — physical education, NSS and Scouts. A yoga performance was presented by school students. Races and events such as shot put filled everyone's hearts with sportsmanship and unity. School principal Rupinder Sandhu thanked everyone who contributed to the success of the event. The event ended with the national anthem.
Kendriya Vidyalaya-29, Chandigarh
Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sector 29-B, celebrated Grandparents’ Day, along with sports day to mark Children’s Day. The function started with paying tributes to Chacha Nehru and a welcome song was sung by tiny tots. Students performed dance from different states which enhanced the flavour of the day. Children enjoyed the day by participating in various fun and frolic activities.
Govt High School, Chandigarh
GHS-30 organised sports day wherein students participated in various events such as 400, 200 and 100-metre races, tug-of-war, sack race, lemon race, balloon race, high jump, long jump, three-legged race, frog race, volleyball matches and kabbadi matches. A cultural programme was also organised on the occasion.
Carmel Convent, Chandigarh
The Atal Tinkering Lab of Carmel Convent School, Sector 9B, Chandigarh, is conducting a four-day workshop at the Government College of Education as a joint initiative with IQAC Cell of the college. Carmel Convent is the first all-girls school in the region to be given a grant by Niti Aayog for constructing the Atal Tinkering Lab. Through this workshop, prospective teachers will receive a hands-on experience of skills such as robotics and 3-D printing so that they can practically use these skills for strengthening the teaching-learning process and also guide their students.
Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula
Two-day International Kids Film Festival (IKFF) was organised for students at Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula. Internationally-acclaimed award winning movies catering to the needs of each age group of students were shown at the school auditorium. In the evening, a special show was organised for parents. Another show was organised for Panchkula schools and government schools.
Paragon Senior Secondary, Mohali
Students of Paragon Senior Secondary School and Paragon Kids, Mohali, celebrated their 36th annual day function, 'Navrang'.
