Hosts Shishu Niketan Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 22, defeated Chaman Vatika Residential Public School, Sadhopur, to win the girls’ U-10 title on the concluding day of the CBSE cluster XVIII kho-kho tournament here today. The hosts defeated Sadhopur girls by an inning and 17 points to win the title.
DAV Sirmour Public School, Paonta Sahib, won the boys’ U-19 title after defeating Roots Country School, Shimla, by one turn and nine points.
Meanwhile, Guru Nanak Mission Public School, Paonta Sahib, won twin titles in the U-17 age group. In the final of the girl’s U-17 category, the Paonta Sahib outfit beat Lawrance Public Senior Secondary School, Mohali, by an inning and nine points. In the final of the boys’ U-17 category, the team outclassed Maharishi Dayanand Adarsh Vidyalaya, Sector 22, by one turn and four points.
In the girls’ U-17 category, Akanksha of Guru Nanak Mission Public School was named the Best Player, while in the boys’ U-17 category, Soyal Khan from the same school was adjudged the best. In the girls’ U-19 category, Rupali of the host team was named the Best Player while Anshul Choudhary of DAV Sirmour Public School, Paonta Sahib, was named best in the boys’ U-19 category.
Kabaddi meet concludes
Government Senior Secondary Model School, Sunder Nagar, defeated hosts Guru Nanak Foundation Public School, Sector 92, Mohali, to win the title of the girls’ U-17 category on the concluding day of the CBSE XVIII kabaddi tournament. The title winners registered a 32-point win over the host team. In the boys’ U-17 category, Angel’s Public School (Haryana) won the title after registering a 19-18 win over Vivek International Public School, Baddi.
Kasauli International Public School, Solan, beat Doon Valley Public School, Solan, by 19 points to win the boys’ U-19 title. Parveen Thakur of Government Senior Secondary School, Mandi, was named the Best Player of the girls’ U-17 category while in the girls’ U-19 category, Saravjot Kaur of the host team bagged the honour. Rahul Sagar Nayak of Alpine Public was adjudged the best in the boys’ category.
